Why Theology?
Abstract

Philosophical and theological assumptions still influence the decisions of behavioral scientists as theoreticians and therapists. The scientific method alone will never reveal the nature, richness and complexity of man and human existence. Theology offers carefully tested presuppositions which lead to a comprehensive cosmology with a distinctive view of man and reality. The questions of man's existence, meaning, spirituality and value make sense within an ordered worldview based on a theocentric view of reality. Man's psychological life cannot be completely separated from his spiritual life. Psychologists who want to understand the total process of living must understand the spiritual dimension of human experience.
