Title
Jacob's Journey: From Narcissism Toward Wholeness
Abstract

This article details the etiology, symptomatology, and treatment of pathological narcissism from a Christian perspective. The theoretical orientation throughout the article is primarily Jungian although other perspectives are presented as well. The primary embodiment of narcissism and its transformation process throughout is the Old Testament patriarch, Jacob; illustrations from his life highlight this transformational process. Specific treatment principles useful in the therapy of narcissistic character disorders are given along with examples of those principles.
