Title
A Response to Haynes
Abstract

Haynes'€™ (this issue) engagement with a Winnicottian redescription of Christian spiritual direction relationships and critique of some of Hardy'€™s (this issue) claims are reframed in terms of: methodological differences between the psychology of religion and theological integration of psychology, and theological differences regarding the nature of human-divine interaction. A justification is offered for including transference-countertransference issues in discussions of the role of spiritual directors.
