Title
A Comparison of the Cognitive Restructuring Psychotherapy Paradigm and Several Spiritual Approaches to Mental Health
Abstract

The present article suggests that a parallel exists between the cognitive restructuring paradigm of cognitive therapy and some evangelical and charismatic approaches to counseling. A brief examination of these respective literatures is included as well as a brief report of a psychotherapy outcome study attempting to combine these models. It is suggested that Christian counseling and psychotherapy can legitimately make more use of the techniques coming from within their own traditions.
