Title
An Integration of Science and Theology in a Piagetian Epistemology
Abstract

Piagetian theory is suggested as a possible epistemological model for creating an interaction between the sciences and theology. Piaget'€™s (1974) developmental paradigm is discussed with particular emphasis upon preoperations, concrete operations, and formal operations and their relation to reality formation and integration. Integrative and non-integrative approaches to theology and science are traced throughout history and analogously to Piagetian thought. Kuhn'€™s (11970) theory of scientific paradigm shifts is summarized and theology/science communication is discussed. It is concluded that science and theology are facets of a complementary continuum of epistemological systems.
