Title
On the Possibility of Integration: Response to McKeown's Characterization of Behaviorist Psychology as Myth
Abstract

In his article "Myth and its Denial in a Secular Age"€McKeown (1981) presents what appears on the surface to be a critique of Skinner's behavioral approach. Careful analysis, however, suggests that his arguments could be applied to a variety of other theories and that his attack is really on the integration approach as such. Three aspects of McKeown's comments are examined: his objections to integration, problem areas in his critique of Skinner's behavioral approach, and some positive features of his critiques of Skinner.
